Pray for those who have authority over you today, that they may be constrained by the Law and Word of God in all they do, whether consciously and by choice, or by their conscience bearing witness to the works of the Law, written on their hearts (Rom. 2.14, 15).
Evening Meditation
Leviticus 19.32
“You shall rise before the gray headed and honor the presence of an old man, and fear your God: I amthe LORD.”
Deuteronomy 24.10-13
10 “When you lend your brother anything, you shall not go into his house to get his pledge. 11 You shall stand outside, and the man to whom you lend shall bring the pledge out to you. 12 And if the man ispoor, you shall not keep his pledge overnight. 13 You shall in any case return the pledge to him again when the sun goes down, that he may sleep in his own garment and bless you; and it shall be righteousness to you before the LORDyour God.”
Do I honor the elderly people I know, and the elders of my church? What about the poor? Or others who are indebted to me, or over whom I have authority? Wait on the Lord, and use this time at the end of the day to prepare to honor others tomorrow.
