Here’s a huge challenge, not just for today, but for every day. How can I keep hatred from settling into my heart? Will I be open to being rebuked today, or willing to rebuke another in love?

Leviticus 24.17
“Whoever kills any man shall surely be put to death.”
Leviticus 24.21b
“…but whoever kills a man shall be put to death.”
Deuteronomy 19.11-13
11 “‘But if anyone hates his neighbor, lies in wait for him, rises against him and strikes him mortally, so that he dies, and he flees to one of these cities, 12 then the elders of his city shall send and bring him from there, and deliver him over to the hand of the avenger of blood, that he may die. 13 Your eye shall not pity him, but you shall put away the guilt ofinnocent blood from Israel, that it may be well with you.’”
Life is precious, and should be regarded as such by everyone. God is Lord of life and death, and His judgments are always just. How can I keep my heart clean of plotting, scheming, or even wishing for harm to come to those I don’t like, or who don’t like me?
