Restorative Justice

The Law of God for Daily Meditation

Morning Meditation
Exodus 22.1
“If a man steals an ox or a sheep, and kills it or sells it, he shall repay five oxen for an ox, and four sheep for a sheep.

Leviticus 24.21a

“Whoever kills an animal shall make it good…”

Leviticus 24.18

“Whoever takes an animal’s life shall make it good, life for life.”

The Law of God exists to promote justice in society. What can I do today to promote and work for justice in our community?

Evening Meditation
Deuteronomy 23.24, 25

“‘If you go into your neighbor’s vineyard, you may eat your fill of grapes, as many as you wish, but you shall not put any in your bag. If you go into your neighbor’s standing grain, you may pluck the ears with your hand, but you shall not put a sickle to your neighbor’s standing grain.’”

Exodus 23.4, 5

“If you meet your enemy’s ox or his donkey going astray, you shall bring it back to him. If you see the donkey of one who hates you lying down under its burden, you shall refrain from leaving him with it; you shall rescue it with him.”

Have I done everything I could today to honor the time, talents
