To the choirmaster: according to The Dove on Far-off Terebinths. A Miktam of David, when the Philistines seized him in Gath. Be gracious to me, O God, for man tramples on me; all day long an attacker oppresses me; my enemies trample on me all day long, for many attack me proudly. When I am afraid, I put my trust in you. In God, whose word I praise, in God I trust; I shall not be afraid. What can flesh do to me?
It gets overwhelming as I work through the Psalms, and not even 2/5s through the collection, how many times the Psalmists were assured that they (and I) have nothing to fear from the efforts of man. The question is asked over and over, “What can flesh do to me?”
They only answer that truly fits is that the LORD know how weak my flesh is and that it will need to be reassured frequently.
Today's readings in the Psalms:
Morning: Psalm 48
Mid-day: 119:89-96
Evening: Psalm 124
