Realizing the presence, promise, and power of the Kingdom of God.
Voices Together

Psalms 119:41-48

Let your steadfast love come to me, O LORD, your salvation according to your promise; then shall I have an answer for him who taunts me, for I trust in your word. And take not the word of truth utterly out of my mouth, for my hope is in your rules. I will keep your law continually, forever and ever, and I shall walk in a wide place, for I have sought your precepts. I will also speak of your testimonies before kings and shall not be put to shame, for I find my delight in your commandments, which I love. I will lift up my hands toward your commandments, which I love, and I will meditate on your statutes.

Lord, as I worked compiling the costs and impacts of this nation's decision to make Roe v. Wade the law of the land in direct defiance to Your Law, my heart was filled with sadness and anger at the enormous price in lives and dollars by that action. A Pyrrhic victory if there ever was one. And the end of this Holocaust is not in sight.

But Your Word provides a way to a better life, a life of righteousness. peace and joy in the Holy Spirit, Life in the Kingdom of Heaven in the here and now. It provides the transforming work of the cross to open the door into that Kingdom; it provides the promised Holy Spirit to be my docent and concierge leading me in the Way I should go; it is the purveyor of life in Your presence; it is Your great gift to Your people. Praise You, my Lord and Master.
