John 1:6-8
There was a man sent from God, whose name was John. He came as a witness, to bear witness about the light, that all might believe through him. He was not the light, but came to bear witness about the light.
There is a man sent from God whose name is John.
God anointed John of Chester with the Holy Spirit and with power. He has been sent about to do good and heal those who are oppressed by the devil, for God is with him. [paraphrase of Acts 10:38]
