Jerusalem—built as a city that is bound firmly together, to which the tribes go up, the tribes of the LORD, as was decreed for Israel, to give thanks to the name of the LORD. There thrones for judgment were set, the thrones of the house of David.
The old Jerusalem, the old temple were built with quarried stone, skillfully and artfully fitted together. The New Jerusalem, the New Temple will be built with the lives of the saints, quarried from sin by the sacrifice of Jesus and skillfully and artfully fitted together into a city and temple built of living stone. (cf Eph. 2:19-22)
