The Word of Truth, that precious word that reveals reality, that displays both good and evil in pure detail. My prayer is that all words coming from my mouth will be Truth, pure unalloyed Truth. No shading, no weasel words, Truth.

Let your steadfast love come to me, O LORD, your salvation according to your promise; then shall I have an answer for him who taunts me, for I trust in your word.

The answer to all the world's taunts and challenges lies in the Word; my challenge is to trust it and depend on it for wisdom and guidance. Your love never fails.

Lord, as I worked last night compiling the costs and impacts of this nation's decision to make Roe v. Wade the law of the land in direct defiance to Your Law, my heart was filled with sadness and anger at the enormous price in lives and dollars by that action. A Pyhrric victory if there ever was one. And the end of this Holocaust is not is sight.

But Your Word provides a way to a better life, a life of righteousness. peace and joy in the Holy Spirit, Life in the Kingdom of Heaven in the here and now. It provides the transforming work of the cross to open the door into that Kingdom; it provides the promised Holy Spirit to be my docent and concierge leading me in the Way I should go; it is the purveyor of life in Your presence; it is Your great gift to Your people. Praise You, my Lord and Master.

Accept my freewill offerings of praise, O LORD, and teach me your rules.

Lord, for those times when I am separated from my familiar surroundings or distraught by problems, all I need to do is turn the eye of my mind to You and to Your faithfulness. How can I be depressed by the sin and confusion that is rampant around me when I know that You are in control of all things. Let the politicians rant and rave, casting all sorts of charges, counter-charges, lies and rebuttals; I am a citizen of the Kingdom of God and not of this world. Hallelujah!

These things I remember, as I pour out my soul: how I would go with the throng and lead them in procession to the house of God with glad shouts and songs of praise, a multitude keeping festival.

To join with the brothers in the prison while we may not be a multitude, is indeed a joy-filled evening. Anytime I can enter into worship in spirit and in truth is a soul lifting experience.

When shall I come and appear before God? My tears have been my food day and night, while they say to me all the day long, "Where is your God?"

Lord, I hunger and thirst to know You more deeply, to know that when someone looks at me with the question on their mind, “Where is Your God?” they will immediately see Your presence in me, the transforming power of Your Holy Spirit working in my life.

Our hope for you is unshaken, for we know that as you share in our sufferings, you will also share in our comfort.

Lord, help me to never forget the beauty of this passage and its application to every aspect of my life. Every challenge, every test and temptation is used by You to equip me for ministry. These events should bring joy to my heart, filling me with gratitude, giving thanks to You that I am worthy of suffering for Your Name's sake. Another reason why I should give thanks in all circumstances—You are equipping Your servant.

But you, O LORD, be gracious to me, and raise me up, that I may repay them! By this I know that you delight in me: my enemy will not shout in triumph over me. But you have upheld me because of my integrity, and set me in your presence forever.

It is the transformation that I experience that demonstrates to me and to the world that You are an awesome God. As Paul said in Galatians 1:23-24 that it was the transformation from destroyer of the faithful to declarer of the faith that caused You to be glorified, so it must be with me

Behold, I long for your precepts; in your righteousness give me life!

It is through Your salvation, through Your gift of the Holy Spirit that I am able to live according to Your righteousness. How I long to enter more deeply into Your Kingdom, that place where Your precepts rule without challenge.

Turn away the reproach that I dread, for your rules are good.

Lord, give me strength to stand against the culture as I suffer scorn and derision for Your name's sake. Give me strength to stand for Your Word even in the face of criticism of my obedience.
