And he who was seated on the throne said, "Behold, I am making all things new." Also he said, "Write this down, for these words are trustworthy and true." And he said to me, "It is done! I am the Alpha and the Omega, the beginning and the end. To the thirsty I will give from the spring of the water of life without payment. The one who conquers will have this heritage, and I will be his God and he will be my son. But as for the cowardly, the faithless, the detestable, as for murderers, the sexually immoral, sorcerers, idolaters, and all liars, their portion will be in the lake that burns with fire and sulfur, which is the second death."

“Behold I am making all things new.” Another one of those precious “all things,” the only inclusive that has meaning. The One who is the Alpha and Omega, the Beginning and the End is the only one who can claim the title, “The One who makes all things new.” The One who will bring all things together in peace, not just the lion and the lamb but all things will be restored to Him.

Then I saw a new heaven and a new earth, for the first heaven and the first earth had passed away, and the sea was no more. And I saw the holy city, new Jerusalem, coming down out of heaven from God, prepared as a bride adorned for her husband. And I heard a loud voice from the throne saying, "Behold, the dwelling place of God is with man. He will dwell with them, and they will be his people, and God himself will be with them as their God. He will wipe away every tear from their eyes, and death shall be no more, neither shall there be mourning, nor crying, nor pain anymore, for the former things have passed away."

Behold that glorious day is coming when Your dwelling place will be with us, Your chosen people. And we will fully be that chosen race, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, a people for his own possession. (1 Peter 2:9 ) We will be praising and glorifying You.

Matthew 6:33

But seek first the kingdom of God and his righteousness, and all these things will be added to you.

Trust, trust, trust. I must trust in God's promises, I must believe that He will provide all the mundane things that take on importance in my life. I must look to Him for direction, and that takes the form of becoming throughly familiar with His Word, with His Law. This is the guide for life.

Psalm 44:26

May 21, 2013

Awake! Why are you sleeping, O Lord? Rouse yourself! Do not reject us forever! Why do you hide your face? Why do you forget our affliction and oppression? For our soul is bowed down to the dust; our belly clings to the ground. Rise up; come to our help! Redeem us for the sake of your steadfast love!

But You are not sleeping, You are the One who says that He will never leave me nor forsake me. You do not hide Your face from me. You are always there with outstretched hand, saying, “Come to me with your afflictions and oppression, lay your heavy burdens on Me and I will give you rest for My burden is light and My yoke is easy.” All You ask from me is obedience and the veil is lifted, the cataracts on my eyes are removed and I can see You clearly and bask in the comfort of Your love.

Psalm 44:20-22

May 20, 2013

If we had forgotten the name of our God or spread out our hands to a foreign god, would not God discover this? For he knows the secrets of the heart. Yet for your sake we are killed all the day long; we are regarded as sheep to be slaughtered.

I need to seek to be faithful to You through whatever trial the Evil One sends against me to seek to put roadblocks in my path. You know the depth and the extent of my determination to be faithful to You and will sustain me to the end. You are a great and merciful God.

I am a companion of all who fear you, of those who keep your precepts.

Lord, the true and unmistakable mark of Your people is a thirst to obey You in all things. Therefore, I am in fellowship with all who slake that thirst at the fountain of Your Word, continuously seeking apply it to all aspects of their lives. They are my beloved brothers and sisters.

The earth, O LORD, is full of your steadfast love; teach me your statutes!

It is through the understanding of Your statutes that Your steadfast love is revealed and comprehended. As I dig into the beauty and comprehensiveness of Your Law, I begin to appreciate the completeness of Your love for me.

At midnight I rise to praise you, because of your righteous rules.

All day, all night, Your righteous rules must be before me, foremost in my thoughts, foremost in my decisions, foremost in my conduct, foremost in my testimony to others, foremost in my counseling, foremost in my ministry, foremost in all aspect of my life. "You shall love the LORD, Your God, with all your heart, mind, soul and strength and you shall love your neighbor as yourself."

Though the cords of the wicked ensnare me, I do not forget your law.

Yes, it is all too easy to get entangled in the lies and deceptions of the wicked, to become distracted from my assigned task of advancing the Kingdom by glorifying God. But if I keep the Law ever before me I am safe and I continue to be productive in the task set before me.

When I think on my ways, I turn my feet to your testimonies; I hasten and do not delay to keep your commandments.

When I think on my ways, when I realize and understand the depths of my sin and willfulness, I am driven to seek Your Law for guidance in the Way. Your righteous commandments are my traveler's guide for my journey through the Kingdom of Heaven as a sojourner on earth.

I entreat your favor with all my heart; be gracious to me according to your promise.

You, O Lord, are the source of all blessing and good, it is Your love that pours out to guide and bring my life into accord with Yours. Your promise never fails, Your love never wavers, I am Your child, praise You.

The LORD is my portion; I promise to keep your words.

I think of sitting down for supper last night and Betty placed my dinner in front of me. All plated and attractively arranged so that it appeared as inviting to eat as it actually was. So it is with You, Lord, You are my portion, all that is necessary for salvation and a life in the Kingdom. It is my obedience that is the act of consumption, the taking in of Your gift of salvation into my life to be lived out as You directed

The LORD is my portion; I promise to keep your words. (58) I entreat your favor with all my heart; be gracious to me according to your promise. (59) When I think on my ways, I turn my feet to your testimonies; (60) I hasten and do not delay to keep your commandments. (61) Though the cords of the wicked ensnare me, I do not forget your law. (62) At midnight I rise to praise you, because of your righteous rules. (63) I am a companion of all who fear you, of those who keep your precepts. (64) The earth, O LORD, is full of your steadfast love; teach me your statutes!

Lord, I can promise to keep Your Word but it is an empty promise without the guidance of the Holy Spirit. I, a sinful man, am weak and easily dissuaded from the path of righteousness, peace and joy. But in the strength that You provide, I am an ambassador of reconciliation for the Kingdom of Heaven. Keep me in Your Word, dwelling in Your Precepts and living Your Testimonies.
