2 Timothy 1:12

July 31, 2012

which is why I suffer as I do. But I am not ashamed, for I know whom I have believed, and I am convinced that he is able to guard until that Day what has been entrusted to me.

"For I know whom I have believed

And am persuaded

That He is able

To keep that which I have committed

Unto Him against that day."

Great words of comfort and conviction, let me sing it today with joy and confidence.

O LORD, our Lord, how majestic is your name in all the earth!

The Majesty! The Opulence! The Glory! The Splendor! The Richness! The Light! The Brilliance! The Luster! The Radiance! The Weight! The Color! The Power! The Stillness! The Thunder! The Justice! The Righteousness! The Peace! The Joy! The Beauty! The Goodness! The Name that is above all other names!

July 29, 2012

Righteous are you, O LORD, and right are your rules.

Amen, period, fini! If I want to understand, to comprehend righteousness, to apply it to my life as my rule of living, I need to immerse myself in Your Word, absorbing Your love, grace and mercy, reflecting Your glory, seeking the guidance of the Holy Spirit. Thank You, Lord.

Psalm 8:3-8

July 28, 2012

When I look at your heavens, the work of your fingers, the moon and the stars, which you have set in place, what is man that you are mindful of him, and the son of man that you care for him? Yet you have made him a little lower than the heavenly beings and crowned him with glory and honor. You have given him dominion over the works of your hands; you have put all things under his feet, all sheep and oxen, and also the beasts of the field, the birds of the heavens, and the fish of the sea, whatever passes along the paths of the seas.

Lord, how stupid and willful can we be? When man looks at creation, his drive to be as you forces him to see not beauty and order but chaos. You have given him dominion over all creation but he sees only that man is a scourge on the earth and must be eliminated. Lord, O Lord, why do you withhold Your hand from this wicked and rebellious people?

Psalm 8:1-2

July 27, 2012

To the choirmaster: according to The Gittith. A Psalm of David. O LORD, our Lord, how majestic is your name in all the earth! You have set your glory above the heavens. Out of the mouth of babies and infants, you have established strength because of your foes, to still the enemy and the avenger.

“How majestic is Your name in all the earth” “Majestic” Bringing forth images of pomp and circumstance, royal splendor, jewels and gold, redolent with the aromas of many incenses, intense color and light, the sounds of countless saints singing praise, the blare of trumpets and the clash of cymbals, the mountains dancing for joy and the oceans tossing their waves in response, lightening and thunder. A superlatively intense display invoking all the emotions and sense. “Majestic” Yet with an overriding sense of being in the presence of the LORD God Almighty. Pressing awe and the crushing weight of His glory.

Romans 11:33-36

July 26, 2012

Oh, the depth of the riches and wisdom and knowledge of God! How unsearchable are his judgments and how inscrutable his ways! "For who has known the mind of the Lord, or who has been his counselor?" "Or who has given a gift to him that he might be repaid?" For from him and through him and to him are all things. To him be glory forever. Amen.

Another statement of the allness of “all things.” It is no wonder that a few minutes ago, “Great is Thy Faithfulness” popped into my mind and is reverberating there.

Great is Thy faithfulness, O God my Father;
There is no shadow of turning with Thee;
Thou changest not, Thy compassions, they fail not;
As Thou hast been, Thou forever will be.

Refrain

Great is Thy faithfulness!
Great is Thy faithfulness!
Morning by morning new mercies I see.
All I have needed Thy hand hath provided;
Great is Thy faithfulness, Lord, unto me!

Summer and winter and springtime and harvest,
Sun, moon and stars in their courses above
Join with all nature in manifold witness
To Thy great faithfulness, mercy and love.

Refrain

Pardon for sin and a peace that endureth
Thine own dear presence to cheer and to guide;
Strength for today and bright hope for tomorrow,
Blessings all mine, with ten thousand beside!

Refrain

Psalm 7:14-17

July 25, 2012

Behold, the wicked man conceives evil and is pregnant with mischief and gives birth to lies. He makes a pit, digging it out, and falls into the hole that he has made. His mischief returns upon his own head, and on his own skull his violence descends. I will give to t    he LORD the thanks due to his righteousness, and I will sing praise to the name of the LORD, the Most High.

Thank You and praise You, my Lord and Master that You lifted me out of that pit which I had dug.  My  mischief had indeed returned upon my own head and those of my family, but You drew me to Yourself, washed me in the Blood of the Lamb and made me whole in Your sight. And then, in your goodness and mercy, set me to the high calling of shepherd to the flock. Praise You and praise You forever and ever, Amen.

Psalm 7:8-13

July 24, 2012

The LORD judges the peoples; judge me, O LORD, according to my righteousness and according to the integrity that is in me. Oh, let the evil of the wicked come to an end, and may you establish the righteous-- you who test the minds and hearts, O righteous God! My shield is with God, who saves the upright in heart. God is a righteous judge, and a God who feels indignation every day. If a man does not repent, God will whet his sword; he has bent and readied his bow; he has prepared for him his deadly weapons, making his arrows fiery shafts.

I stand in Your righteousness, my Lord, not my own. Mine is as filthy rags, putrid and foul, but Yours is without blemish, sweet, fragrant and pure. Thank You, praise You, it is Your grace and mercy that stands between me and You. I have redemption, I have received the gift, the Kingdom Life Seal of Approval, the empowerment of the Holy Spirit, I am Your brother and co-heir with You in the Kingdom. I am Yours!

Psalm 7:6-7

July 23, 2012

Arise, O LORD, in your anger; lift yourself up against the fury of my enemies; awake for me; you have appointed a judgment. Let the assembly of the peoples be gathered about you; over it return on high.

Make Your presence known, Lord, to me and among my flock. Let Your hand be against all who assault us, all the minions of the Evil One, all those who take Your Name in vain and as a curse. O, Lord, stand between us and the temptations that Satan throws against us.

Psalm 119:133

July 22, 2012

Keep steady my steps according to your promise, and let no iniquity get dominion over me.

This is a day where it is so tempting to allow the iniquity of pride of accomplishment to become dominate. The spirit of hubris suppresses humility and a contrite spirit. Lord, weigh me down today and every day with an overwhelming spirit of Thanksgiving and Praise.

Mid-day: 119:17-24

Evening: Psalm 138

Psalm 7:3-5

July 21, 2012

O LORD my God, if I have done this, if there is wrong in my hands, if I have repaid my friend with evil or plundered my enemy without cause, let the enemy pursue my soul and overtake it, and let him trample my life to the ground and lay my glory in the dust. Selah

Forgive me, Lord, for those sins against You, those instances where I have turned to other gods as a source of blessing. Chief among them is my pride, my determination to demonstrate that I am superior to others. Bring me into a life of humility before You and before man.

Lord, teach me to be a proper husband and helpmate to Betty. She is and always has been, Your gift to me. Thank You, my Lord and Master.

July 20, 2012

A Shiggaion of David, which he sang to the LORD concerning the words of Cush, a Benjaminite. O LORD my God, in you do I take refuge; save me from all my pursuers and deliver me, lest like a lion they tear my soul apart, rending it in pieces, with none to deliver.

Lord, Your protection is complete and Your deliverance is total. It is my acceptance and comprehension that is faulty.
