Psalm 119:165

June 30, 2013

Great peace have those who love your law; nothing can make them stumble.

Lord, how do I get the message through to the men we work with that life in the Kingdom is a place of great peace and contentment; the message that they lose nothing of value but gain a pearl of great price? Guide me, Lord.

Psalm 49:16-20

June 29, 2013

Be not afraid when a man becomes rich, when the glory of his house increases. For when he dies he will carry nothing away; his glory will not go down after him. For though, while he lives, he counts himself blessed --and though you get praise when you do well for yourself—his soul will go to the generation of his fathers, who will never again see light. Man in his pomp yet without understanding is like the beasts that perish.

You, the Lord, God Almighty, have covered me with Your promises and I am content in the fullness of that love. However, I do pray for those, especially for those in my family and among those whom You have given me to shepherd, that they also, would be filled with the knowledge and conviction that You are sufficient for all their needs. That they too, as they seek You and Your righteousness as their first and only priority, all other considerations will fall away and become as dross at their feet.

But God will ransom my soul from the power of Sheol, for he will receive me. Selah

I am redeemed, hallelujah. I am redeemed, hallelujah. I am a child of the King, Hallelujah. I am appointed as an Ambassador of Reconciliation, hallelujah. Praise God from whom all blessings flow. Hallelujah, through His love and mercy, hallelujah. Maranatha, Lord, Jesus, maranatha.

Psalm 49:10-14

June 27, 2013

For he sees that even the wise die; the fool and the stupid alike must perish and leave their wealth to others. Their graves are their homes forever, their dwelling places to all generations, though they called lands by their own names. Man in his pomp will not remain; he is like the beasts that perish. This is the path of those who have foolish confidence; yet after them people approve of their boasts. Selah Like sheep they are appointed for Sheol; death shall be their shepherd, and the upright shall rule over them in the morning. Their form shall be consumed in Sheol, with no place to dwell.

Lord, many place complete reliance upon the god of reason, upon their own ability to pick and choose their truth, a form of extreme hubris. Why is it that the evidence of their own lives does not convict them of the weakness of that god? Why is it that that element of doubt nagging at their consciences does not sway them to accepting the God of Truth and Life? How long will You continue to allow someone to continue to reject Your offer of life in the Kingdom, a life of righteousness, peace and joy in Your Holy Spirit?

Psalm 49:5-9

June 26, 2013

Why should I fear in times of trouble, when the iniquity of those who cheat me surrounds me, those who trust in their wealth and boast of the abundance of their riches? Truly no man can ransom another, or give to God the price of his life, for the ransom of their life is costly and can never suffice, that he should live on forever and never see the pit.

Why do I worry when someone takes advantage of me? When someone plays on my/our willingness to be of assistance to all in times of trouble? When will I learn that it is You that has been offended, it is You that they have sinned against. Help me, Lord, to turn it over to You and leave the outcome in Your hands.

Psalm 49:1-4

June 25, 2013

To the choirmaster. A Psalm of the Sons of Korah. Hear this, all peoples! Give ear, all inhabitants of the world, both low and high, rich and poor together! My mouth shall speak wisdom; the meditation of my heart shall be understanding. I will incline my ear to a proverb; I will solve my riddle to the music of the lyre.

Lord, prepare me to minster Your Word and the message of Your coming to the lost and broken among us. Prepare hearts thirsting for the Good News, anxious for relief from a world of misery and death. Prepare me to carry that message of righteousness,. peace and joy that is life in the Holy Spirit as we live in Your Kingdom today.

Timothy 6:11-12

June 24, 2013

But as for you, O man of God, flee these things. Pursue righteousness, godliness, faith, love, steadfastness, gentleness. Fight the good fight of the faith. Take hold of the eternal life to which you were called and about which you made the good confession in the presence of many witnesses.

My calling is to pursue righteousness, godliness, faith, love, steadfastness, and gentleness. I am called to fight the good fight of the faith. I am not called to pursue material gain or fame, but to leave all in Your hands. I understand but it is hard, Lord, very hard sometimes.

Psalm 119:104

June 29, 2013

Through your precepts I get understanding; therefore I hate every false way.

Those false ways lead to confusion and pain, they are snares for Satan, attractive on the surface but hiding misery and separation from You. Your precepts provide clarity; the righteousness, peace and joy that is life in the Kingdom through the Holy Spirit. Praise You, my Lord and my Master.

Psalm 119:103

June 28, 2013

How sweet are your words to my taste, sweeter than honey to my mouth!

To know is to develop the ultimate sweet tooth. It comes to the point that nothing satisfies as Your Word does. It is to be in Your Presence, within the sweet, sweet tones of the Logos. Help me, Lord, to gain an ear for that music.

Psalm 119:101, 102

June 27, 2013

I hold back my feet from every evil way, in order to keep your word.

If your Word is a light for my path and a lamp for my feet, and it is, then I must be very careful not to step off into darkness, into someplace where I cannot see clearly.

I do not turn aside from your rules, for you have taught me.

And taught me well through encouragement and chastisement. But I am still learning

Psalm 119:100

June 26, 2013

I understand more than the aged, for I keep your precepts.

It is not the wisdom and understanding as the result of human experience but the understanding that can come only through the study of Your Word and precepts. I must seek constantly to gain a comprehensive knowledge and understanding of Your Law.

Psalm 119:98, 99

June 25, 2013

Your commandment makes me wiser than my enemies, for it is ever with me.

Simple, knowing that Your commandments, Your Word, is that source of all truth, I know that in knowing it, and through the guidance of the Holy Spirit, I have access to the mind of Christ. My foes must labor under the delusions that come from following the ways that seem right to them but the end is death.

I have more understanding than all my teachers, for your testimonies are my meditation.

To understand comes only through meditation upon Your Word and Your Law. “The beginning of wisdom is the fear of the Lord.” I must live a life of obedience to gain understanding. Therefore, I must study Your Word for ignorance is no excuse in the eyes of the Law.
