On the glorious splendor of Your majesty, and on Your wondrous works, I will meditate. They shall speak of the might of Your awesome deeds, and I will declare Your greatness. They shall pour forth the fame of Your abundant goodness and shall sing aloud of Your righteousness.

To spend my life meditating on Your glorious works, Lord, to dwell upon the splendor of Your majesty; this is true joy and pleasure forevermore. As I listened to the testimonies last night, testimonies of lives transformed by love and grace, what did shine and continues to shine is the revealing of You as the Healer of the ravages of sin and corruption. To hear a man give thanks to You because he spent two weeks in solitary; this is a demonstration of Your might and power. Praise You my Lord and my Master.

O, my Lord and my Master, I have failed You, I have failed my children and grandchildren, I have not obeyed your commandments to teach my children. I was rebellious and headstrong, and my children suffer. Forgive me Lord, give me strength and flame to declare Your mighty acts to the generations.

Lord, I long to be able to praise You from my rising until my laying down. I long to be so wrapped in Your presence that all else fades into colorless insignificance. Who will not fear, O Lord, and glorify your name? For you alone are holy. All nations will come and worship you, for your righteous acts have been revealed."

That day is coming, that glorious day when all the nations will bow down before You in worship and praise. That day when Your righteousness is fully revealed for all. Will it be a day when those who have denied You finally confess that they refused to acknowledge that You are the just and true One? That they too will glorify Your name, that You indeed are the LORD, God Almighty? Maranatha!

May our sons in their youth be like plants full grown, our daughters like corner pillars cut for the structure of a palace; may our granaries be full, providing all kinds of produce; may our sheep bring forth thousands and ten thousands in our fields; may our cattle be heavy with young, suffering no mishap or failure in bearing; may there be no cry of distress in our streets! Blessed are the people to whom such blessings fall! Blessed are the people whose God is the LORD!

Lord, this is not a prayer for prosperity, but a prayer that Your magnificence will be displayed in my life. Displayed through sons and daughter who delight in You; displayed through a life led by Betty and me which demonstrates Your agape love for Your creation; displayed by a life that carries the Good News to every corner of our mission fields; displayed by a life that glorifies You in all things. Praise You, Lord.

Before I was afflicted I went astray, but now I keep your word. You are good and do good; teach me your statutes. The insolent smear me with lies, but with my whole heart I keep your precepts; their heart is unfeeling like fat, but I delight in your law. It is good for me that I was afflicted, that I might learn your statutes.

What a process, Lord, to teach me that it is my own disobedience that leads to afflictions and then You use these afflictions to teach me Your precepts. My heart begins to be filled with the delight of Your presence as You are revealed in Your Word; Your joy becomes the guiding affection of my life; I begin to see and understand the Goodness of Your law; I look at my afflictions and can say, "It was good."

Bow your heavens, O LORD, and come down! Touch the mountains so that they smoke! Flash forth the lightning and scatter them; send out your arrows and rout them! Stretch out your hand from on high; rescue me and deliver me from the many waters, from the hand of foreigners, whose mouths speak lies and whose right hand is a right hand of falsehood.

Lord, how appropriate for today as I complete the report of the Guardianship for the court. My prayer indeed is that those who are speaking lies and maligning Betty and I will have their lies and insults revealed for what they are. Not for our sake, Lord, but that You will receive the credit and the glory.

It is beyond comprehension, that You, the Alpha and the Omega, the I AM, the one who is outside of all things, should become as one of us, coming to serve and to die for us, for me and mine. And now, is standing at the right hand of the LORD, God Almighty, the LORD of hosts, interceding for those whom You redeemed from Satan's dominion. Praise You, my Lord, my Master, the One to whom I owe all as my Savior.

Children, obey your parents in the Lord, for this is right. "Honor your father and mother" (this is the first commandment with a promise), "that it may go well with you and that you may live long in the land."

Lord, this is beginning to be a week of prayer for my family, concentrated and devoted prayer for them. Guide me to pray for them unceasingly throughout each day, remembering each child, spouse and grandchild specifically in prayer. Help me, Lord, to honor this vow this week. The spirit is willing but the memory is weak.
