Psalm 138:7

Though I walk in the midst of trouble, You preserve my life; You stretch out Your hand against the wrath of my enemies, and Your right hand delivers me.

Lord, I was walking through the wilderness of sin, corruption and self-will when You stretched out Your hand to lift me up and cleansed me in the blood of the Lamb. I am delivered, I am free, I am Yours.

Psalm 138:8

The LORD will fulfill His purpose for me; Your steadfast love, O LORD, endures forever. Do not forsake the work of Your hands.

You are fulfilling Your purpose in me, You are using me to proclaim Your great mercy and grace; You have set me to a work of carrying the knowledge of Your love to the hungry, the thirsty, the lonely, the forlorn, the sick and the prisoner. I am Your servant.

Psalm 139:1-6

To the choirmaster. A Psalm of David. O LORD, You have searched me and known me! You know when I sit down and when I rise up; You discern my thoughts from afar. You search out my path and my lying down and are acquainted with all my ways. Even before a word is on my tongue, behold, O LORD, You know it altogether. You hem me in, behind and before, and lay Your hand upon me. Such knowledge is too wonderful for me; it is high; I cannot attain it.

Here I am Lord, completely enveloped in Your love and Your presence. There is nothing hidden from You; it used to be frightening, now it is comforting to know that I am secure in the palm of Your hand. But still beyond my understanding and comprehension, I must accept as one of those ineffable mysteries and praise You for You love me so.

Psalm 139:7-12

Where shall I go from Your Spirit? Or where shall I flee from Your presence? If I ascend to heaven, You are there! If I make my bed in Sheol, You are there! If I take the wings of the morning and dwell in the uttermost parts of the sea, even there Your hand shall lead me, and Your right hand shall hold me. If I say, "Surely the darkness shall cover me, and the light about me be night," even the darkness is not dark to You; the night is bright as the day, for darkness is as light with You.

Lord, I spent my days fleeing from Your presence, hiding from You, denying Your name, determined to be my own god. But You pursued me, sent the Hound of Heaven after me, brought me into Your Kingdom, transformed me from a life of darkness into a life bright with Your glorious light.

Praise You, my Lord and my Master.

Psalm 139:13-16

For You formed my inward parts; You knitted me together in my mother's womb. I praise You, for I am fearfully and wonderfully made. Wonderful are Your works; my soul knows it very well. My frame was not hidden from You, when I was being made in secret, intricately woven in the depths of the earth. Your eyes saw my unformed substance; in Your book were written, every one of them, the days that were formed for me, when as yet there was none of them.

Lord, sometimes it is difficult to remember that I am the work of Your hands. Especially as I sit here this morning, knowing that at this time tomorrow morning, I will be preparing for a test of my heart. But, Lord, I must not forget that Your workmanship is perfect but it has been sullied by my sin.

Lord, walk with me tomorrow, let me face the test without fear, give Dr. Fox discernment as he interprets the results, may I have a complete sensing of Your hand on my life.

Praise You, my Lord and my Master.

Psalm 139:17-18

How precious to me are Your thoughts, O God! How vast is the sum of them! If I would count them, they are more than the sand. I awake, and I am still with You.

Yes, my Lord, Your thoughts sustain me and that comforts me today as I go to take this medical test. No, no, You never let go of me!

Psalm 119:57-58

The LORD is my portion; I promise to keep your words. I entreat your favor with all my heart; be gracious to me according to your promise.

Lord, Thank You for all the blessings yesterday, those that we recognized and those that we did not. Forgive me Lord, for those blessings of which I was aware, but neglected to thank You and acknowledge Your hand in the provision. Lord, remove the callus on my heart that makes me insensitive to Your hand upon my life and give me increased awareness of Your presence.

Psalm 139:19-22
Oh that You would slay the wicked, O God! O men of blood, depart from me! They speak against You with malicious intent; Your enemies take Your name in vain! Do I not hate those who hate You, O LORD? And do I not loathe those who rise up against You? I hate them with complete hatred; I count them my enemies.

Lord, I am in Your hands, I know that You will protect me from the attempts of the Evil One to discourage me, fill me with fear, trust in my own knowledge and strength, tempt me with the lures of this world; any way to take my eyes off You and to stray from the Way of Righteousness. Train my conscience to be an alert sentinel against the wiles of those who loathe You.

Psalm 139:23-24
Search me, O God, and know my heart! Try me and know my thoughts! And see if there be any grievous way in me, and lead me in the way everlasting!

Lord, it is a continuation of the refining process, of working out my salvation, of becoming Your Ambassador of Reconciliation, posted to the Kingdom of Man. To lead me in the way everlasting is to lead me along that narrow path that wends through the Kingdom of God, tasting and sampling the pleasures of Your presence every step of the way. A foretaste of the joy to come as You bring your Kingdom into full awareness.

Psalm 140:1-5
To the choirmaster. A Psalm of David. Deliver me, O LORD, from evil men; preserve me from violent men, who plan evil things in their heart and stir up wars continually. They make their tongue sharp as a serpent's, and under their lips is the venom of asps. Selah Guard me, O LORD, from the hands of the wicked; preserve me from violent men, who have planned to trip up my feet. The arrogant have hidden a trap for me, and with cords they have spread a net; beside the way they have set snares for me. Selah

Lord, I don't know what challenges, temptations, trials and tests that I am going to face today. I do know that the Evil One is cunning in his attempts to swerve me from the path of obedience to Your word. I also know, that in my own strength and left to my own devices, I am weak, I am a coward and I bring disgrace to Your Name. Therefore, guard me, Lord, set my feet upon the path of righteousness so that I will not trip and disgrace You.

Psalm 140:6-8
I say to the LORD, You are my God; give ear to the voice of my pleas for mercy, O LORD! O LORD, my Lord, the strength of my salvation, You have covered my head in the day of battle. Grant not, O LORD, the desires of the wicked; do not further their evil plot, or they will be exalted! Selah

Lord, You are my Lord, I come to You pleading for strength and wisdom. You are the source of my salvation, You have equipped me for battle and direct my every step. Praise You, my Lord and my Master.

Psalm 140:9-11
As for the head of those who surround me, let the mischief of their lips overwhelm them! Let burning coals fall upon them! Let them be cast into fire, into miry pits, no more to rise! Let not the slanderer be established in the land; let evil hunt down the violent man speedily!

Lord, I am in Your hands, You are my Protector, You are the One who stands between me and the forces of the Evil One. All You ask of me is that I seek Your face, that I swerve not to the right or the left and that You are my God, always and in all things. May it be so, my Lord and my Master.
