For my soul is full of troubles, and my life draws near to Sheol. I am counted among those who go down to the pit; I am a man who has no strength, like one set loose among the dead, like the slain that lie in the grave, like those whom you remember no more, for they are cut off from your hand.

Lord, so often those who are suffering feel abandoned by you and that their cries for help are not being answered. It is easy for e to counsel that “It is not Your time or...” but of little solace to the sufferer. Speak to them> Lord, to those crying out to You for release from bondage and from addictions.

If one member suffers, all suffer together; if one member is honored, all rejoice together.

It seems to me, Lord, that my lack of compassion for a suffering brother or sister is a sign on my lack of entering fully into the unity of the Body of Christ. Bring me to my knees, open me to a sharing of the burdens of my fellow believers.

And of Zion it shall be said, "This one and that one were born in her"; for the Most High himself will establish her. The LORD records as he registers the peoples, "This one was born there." Selah Singers and dancers alike say, "All my springs are in you."

Lord, that Your Word, Your message of hope and salvation, may extend rapidly into all corners of the earth. I pray that those areas where their has been a falling away will be reawaken and refired.

Ah, the Gates of Zion, emblematic of the leaders of the Body of Christ who minister faithfully to Your people. Lord, bless them and guide them that Your Church may come to full maturity.

O God, insolent men have risen up against me; a band of ruthless men seeks my life, and they do not set you before them. But you, O Lord, are a God merciful and gracious, slow to anger and abounding in steadfast love and faithfulness. Turn to me and be gracious to me; give your strength to your servant, and save the son of your maidservant. Show me a sign of your favor, that those who hate me may see and be put to shame because you, LORD, have helped me and comforted me.

Hear my prayers, Lord, for my children and grandchildren that they would draw closer to You. Bless them with the righteousness, peace and joy that is life in Your Kingdom. I lift up the seven young men whom I have covenanted with others to be in constant prayer for. Bless them, Lord, that they will grow in wisdom and stature before You. I pray that they will become the legacy that I and the other men leave behind.

Lord, I am quick to implore and slow to praise. Forgive me, Lord, for I am weak and sinful. I want and want and want but am niggardly in my praise and thanksgiving.
