Psalm 95:6-7a

May 28, 2014

Oh come, let us worship and bow down; let us kneel before the LORD, our Maker! For he is our God, and we are the people of his pasture, and the sheep of his hand.

My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow me. John 10:27

And that voice calls me to worship and obey. He knows me—He and I have an intimate relationship—a knowing that transcends any other relationship.

Psalm 95:1-5

May 27, 2014

Oh come, let us sing to the LORD; let us make a joyful noise to the rock of our salvation! Let us come into his presence with thanksgiving; let us make a joyful noise to him with songs of praise! For the LORD is a great God, and a great King above all gods. In his hand are the depths of the earth; the heights of the mountains are his also. The sea is his, for he made it, and his hands formed the dry land.

Holy, holy, holy is the Lord, God Almighty. A Mighty Fortress is our God. Rock of Ages, cleft for me. The Old Rugged Cross. Praise the Savior, ye who know Him. The great hymns of the faith, provided by the Holy Spirit to fuel the spirit of praise within my heart. A great gift to the Lord's own.

Hebrews 4:9-12

May 26, 2014

So then, there remains a Sabbath rest for the people of God, for whoever has entered God's rest has also rested from his works as God did from his. Let us therefore strive to enter that rest, so that no one may fall by the same sort of disobedience. For the word of God is living and active, sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing to the division of soul and of spirit, of joints and of marrow, and discerning the thoughts and intentions of the heart.

There is a Sabbath rest promised to me but it is a rest that I must be intentional about attaining. And it is not a surface obedience, a legalistic setting aside of a day or portion of one but a mind, heart and soul change. A Romans 12:2 transformation. That two-edged sword pierces to the intentions and thoughts of the heart. Lord, bring me to my knees into Your rest.

Psalm 119:13

May 25, 2014

With my lips I declare all the rules of your mouth.

From Your mouth to my lips; a very special journey for it is only through the agency of the Holy Spirit that the ears of my heart hear Your voice. Thank You for the provision of the Holy Spirit to carry the message to me.

Psalm 94:20-23

May 24, 2014

Can wicked rulers be allied with you, those who frame injustice by statute? They band together against the life of the righteous and condemn the innocent to death. But the LORD has become my stronghold, and my God the rock of my refuge. He will bring back on them their iniquity and wipe them out for their wickedness; the LORD our God will wipe them out.

You are my stronghold, You are the One for whom I can join with Job in declaring, “For I know that my Redeemer lives, and at the last he will stand upon the earth.” The hope that lies within me that Your return is immanent.

Psalm 94:16-19

May 23, 2014

Who rises up for me against the wicked? Who stands up for me against evildoers? If the LORD had not been my help, my soul would soon have lived in the land of silence. When I thought, "My foot slips," your steadfast love, O LORD, held me up. When the cares of my heart are many, your consolations cheer my soul.

Protect me, Lord, against the wiles and temptations of the Evil One. Keep me alert and with my eyes wide open to see and understand the snares that have been set for me. Keep me from believing that I can stand in my own strength; that I have the power to withstand. Only through the guidance of the Holy Spirit.

Psalm 94:12-15

May 22, 2014

Blessed is the man whom you discipline, O LORD, and whom you teach out of your law, to give him rest from days of trouble, until a pit is dug for the wicked. For the LORD will not forsake his people; he will not abandon his heritage; for justice will return to the righteous, and all the upright in heart will follow it.

Lord, I lift up those who suffer injustice: the unborn, the abused, the abandoned, the rejected, the addicted, and all who suffer at the hands of others. Do not forsake Your people, O Lord. Bring them into Your Kingdom.

Psalm 94:8-11

May 21, 2014

Understand, O dullest of the people! Fools, when will you be wise? He who planted the ear, does he not hear? He who formed the eye, does he not see? He who disciplines the nations, does he not rebuke? He who teaches man knowledge--the LORD--knows the thoughts of man, that they are but a breath.

How can man be so foolish? How can the One who gave us ears not hear? The One who gave us eyes not see? Only if man is convinced that he is the end of a long line of a random process that has brought order out of chaos and that he stands as the ultimate accomplishment of that process.

Psalm 94:4-7

May 20, 2014

They pour out their arrogant words; all the evildoers boast. They crush your people, O LORD, and afflict your heritage. They kill the widow and the sojourner, and murder the fatherless; and they say, "The LORD does not see; the God of Jacob does not perceive."

How can anyone say, “The Lord does not see”? Only those who are blinded to Your handiwork; those whose awareness of Your presence is so dulled by their own sin and arrogance; those whose sense of justice is totally perverted by greed, covetousness and self will.

Mid-day: 119:73-80

Psalm 94:1-3

May 19, 2014

O LORD, God of vengeance, O God of vengeance, shine forth! Rise up, O judge of the earth; repay to the proud what they deserve! O LORD, how long shall the wicked, how long shall the wicked exult?

How much longer, Lord, will the forces of evil continue to mock and despise You and Your people? How much longer will the proud and the wicked exult in their blasphemy? Rise up, Lord, rise up!

Psalm 119:4-7

May 18, 2014

You have commanded your precepts to be kept diligently. Oh that my ways may be steadfast in keeping your statutes! Then I shall not be put to shame, having my eyes fixed on all your commandments. I will praise you with an upright heart, when I learn your righteous rules.

You have commanded; I plead to be led into obedience, knowing that the result will be a life of the assurance of Your presence spent praising You.

Ephesians 6:18-20

May 17, 2014

praying at all times in the Spirit, with all prayer and supplication. To that end keep alert with all perseverance, making supplication for all the saints, and also for me, that words may be given to me in opening my mouth boldly to proclaim the mystery of the gospel, for which I am an ambassador in chains, that I may declare it boldly, as I ought to speak.

Praying at all times, with all prayer, with all perseverance for all the saints. Hummm, pray without ceasing? And praying especially for those in chains or suffering persecution or called to proclaim the gospel in hostile place and circumstances? This is using the supernatural weapons of the LORD to take the battle to the enemy.
