Psalm 97:7-10a
All worshipers of images are put to shame, who make their boast in worthless idols; worship him, all you gods! Zion hears and is glad, and the daughters of Judah rejoice, because of your judgments, O LORD. For you, O LORD, are most high over all the earth; you are exalted far above all gods. O you who love the LORD, hate evil!
That last sentence sounds like a statement that defines a test. Do I hate evil? Then I must love the Lord. Do I love the Lord, then I must hate evil? But I must not hate the evil doer, his deeds. My call is to demonstrate the love of the Lord, God Almighty and the power of the sacrifice of His Son, the Lord Jesus Christ.

My soul melts away for sorrow; strengthen me according to your word!
Lord, increase the sorrow of my heart. Make me cry for shame that I do not carry the message of the coming destruction into every nook and cranny of my mission field. Give me strength and courage.

Psalm 97:1-6
The LORD reigns, let the earth rejoice; let the many coastlands be glad! Clouds and thick darkness are all around him; righteousness and justice are the foundation of his throne. Fire goes before him and burns up his adversaries all around. His lightnings light up the world; the earth sees and trembles. The mountains melt like wax before the LORD, before the Lord of all the earth. The heavens proclaim his righteousness, and all the peoples see his glory.
Rom 1:20 For his invisible attributes, namely, his eternal power and divine nature, have been clearly perceived, ever since the creation of the world, in the things that have been made. So they are without excuse.
If man did not see the truth of this passage, he would be able to deny the glory of the LORD once and drop it. But the evidence continues and bombards him from every direction. The Glory of the Lord pervades and infuses all creation. And so his continuous denials even serve as evidence of the truth of God's self-revelation.

Ephesians 5:7-10
Therefore do not become partners with them; for at one time you were darkness, but now you are light in the Lord. Walk as children of light (for the fruit of light is found in all that is good and right and true), and try to discern what is pleasing to the Lord.
Walk in the Light, discern what is pleasing to the Lord. Walk as a child of the Light. There is not any wiggle room in these statements—I must have that most immediate priority to please my Lord and Savior.
Today's readings in the Psalms:
Morning: Psalm 1
Mid-day: 119:33-40
Evening: Psalm 76

Psalm 96:11-13
Let the heavens be glad, and let the earth rejoice; let the sea roar, and all that fills it; let the field exult, and everything in it! Then shall all the trees of the forest sing for joy before the LORD, for he comes, for he comes to judge the earth. He will judge the world in righteousness, and the peoples in his faithfulness.
Maranatha. Come, Lord Jesus, come. As the Kingdom of Man appears to be entering its final death spiral, spinning madly out of control, evil and injustice mounting by the day, keep Your people's eyes fixed on the ever present peace, righteousness and joy that is life in the Kingdom of Heaven, here and now.

Morning: Psalm 150
Mid-day: 119:25-32

Psalm 96:10
Say among the nations, "The LORD reigns! Yes, the world is established; it shall never be moved; he will judge the peoples with equity."
Equity: even, just, and equal. There is no law of the land, any land that fully meets this definition, but the Law of God, the LORD God Almighty does. And He reigns!
I am called to declare His sovereignty to all the nations. I am called to to this by my way of life (Matt 28:18-20) and as my way of life (Rom. 10:12-15).
Empower me, Lord.

Psalm 96:7-9
Ascribe to the LORD, O families of the peoples, ascribe to the LORD glory and strength! Ascribe to the LORD the glory due his name; bring an offering, and come into his courts! Worship the LORD in the splendor of holiness; tremble before him, all the earth!
Think about that phrase, “the splendor of holiness.” To be able to worship the LORD in the perfection of His Holiness, to be able to ascribe the glory due His Name, to be able to bring an acceptable offering (Rom. 12:1) into His courts; Oh, that is glory indeed. And brought through the sacrifice of the Lord Jesus Christ.

Evening: Psalm 73

Psalm 96:4-6
For great is the LORD, and greatly to be praised; he is to be feared above all gods. For all the gods of the peoples are worthless idols, but the LORD made the heavens. Splendor and majesty are before him; strength and beauty are in his sanctuary.
How can a construct of my mind be any greater than my mind? How can a mind numbing substance be anything else but something that dulls my mind to the evil in my life and around me? No, it is the LORD God Almighty, the great I AM, the Creator, the very definition of splendor, majesty, strength and beauty.

Psalm 119:17
Deal bountifully with your servant, that I may live and keep your word.
You do deal bountifully but I frequently do not recognize it. How can I ignore the One who gave His all for me? How can I even be so crass as to suggest that You have not dealt bountifully with me? Open my eyes Lord so that I will see Your goodness.

Oh sing to the LORD a new song; sing to the LORD, all the earth! Sing to the LORD, bless his name; tell of his salvation from day to day. Declare his glory among the nations, his marvelous works among all the peoples!
I will sing of my Redeemer, And His wondrous love to me;
On the cruel cross He suffered, From the curse to set me free.
Refrain
Sing, oh sing, of my Redeemer, With His blood, He purchased me.
On the cross, He sealed my pardon, Paid the debt, and made me free.1

Acts 1:6-11
So when they had come together, they asked him, "Lord, will you at this time restore the kingdom to Israel?" He said to them, "It is not for you to know times or seasons that the Father has fixed by his own authority. But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the end of the earth." And when he had said these things, as they were looking on, he was lifted up, and a cloud took him out of their sight. And while they were gazing into heaven as he went, behold, two men stood by them in white robes, and said, "Men of Galilee, why do you stand looking into heaven? This Jesus, who was taken up from you into heaven, will come in the same way as you saw him go into heaven."
What a wonderful and complete passage of instruction for life in the Kingdom here and now:
-
He is coming back but it is not up to me to worry about when or how.
-
I am to live in anticipation of His immanent return.

Psalm 95:7b-11
Today, if you hear his voice, do not harden your hearts, as at Meribah, as on the day at Massah in the wilderness, when your fathers put me to the test and put me to the proof, though they had seen my work. For forty years I loathed that generation and said, "They are a people who go astray in their heart, and they have not known my ways." Therefore I swore in my wrath, "They shall not enter my rest."
As the old praise chorus goes, “Lord, prepare me to be a sanctuary” Send those messengers that You have appointed to admonish and guide me into all truth. Give me the willingness, the desire, the compulsion to obey You above all others. Lord, prepare me to be a sanctuary for You through the power of Your grace, Your mercy and Your love.
