Psalm 105:12-25

August 09, 2014

He is the LORD our God; his judgments are in all the earth. He remembers his covenant forever, the word that he commanded, for a thousand generations, the covenant that he made with Abraham, his sworn promise to Isaac, which he confirmed to Jacob as a statute, to Israel as an everlasting covenant, saying, "To you I will give the land of Canaan as your portion for an inheritance."

The everlasting covenant to Israel is the land of Canaan; the everlasting covenant to Your Church is the Kingdom of Heaven. Even as a remnant dwells in a portion of the land of Canaan today; Your Church dwells in a portion of the Kingdom of Heaven. But oh, the glories before us as You call Your own to You.

Psalm 105:1-6

August 07, 2014

Oh give thanks to the LORD; call upon his name; make known his deeds among the peoples! Sing to him, sing praises to him; tell of all his wondrous works! Glory in his holy name; let the hearts of those who seek the LORD rejoice! Seek the LORD and his strength; seek his presence continually! Remember the wondrous works that he has done, his miracles, and the judgments he uttered, O offspring of Abraham, his servant, children of Jacob, his chosen ones!

Where is the modern day Song of Moses? Who has recounted the marvelous deeds of Lord for His Church as did Stephen before the Sanhedrin? Is there a prophet among us to write a great Psalm such as this one? Lord, cause the Holy Spirit to bring an eruption of praise that has not been seen for many years in this country.

2 Corinthians 1:19-21

August 06, 2014

For the Son of God, Jesus Christ, whom we proclaimed among you, Silvanus and Timothy and I, was not Yes and No, but in him it is always Yes. For all the promises of God find their Yes in him. That is why it is through him that we utter our Amen to God for his glory. And it is God who establishes us with you in Christ, and has anointed us,

All the promises of the Lord God Almighty come to fruition in You. All those great and precious promises that fall under Your statement that You will never leave nor forsake Your people. It is on the strength, the absolute inviability of that promise that I know in the depths of my heart that all things work together for good for those that love You and are called according to Your purpose.

Psalm 104:35b

Psalm 104:31-35a

August 04, 2014

May the glory of the LORD endure forever; may the LORD rejoice in his works, who looks on the earth and it trembles, who touches the mountains and they smoke! I will sing to the LORD as long as I live; I will sing praise to my God while I have being. May my meditation be pleasing to him, for I rejoice in the LORD. Let sinners be consumed from the earth, and let the wicked be no more!

If You look at the earth and it trembles; when You touch the mountains and they smoke, what must be the effect on me, a mere mortal when I realize that Your gaze never leaves me? Lord, that my every thought, every utterance, every action will glorify You and bring those who don't know You to desire You

Psalm 119:90

August 03, 2014

Your faithfulness endures to all generations; you have established the earth, and it stands fast.

Generation after generation, all the recipient of Your generosity and love. You stand with arms outstretched, saying, “Come unto me, all you who are heavy laden and I will give you rest.” My only response must be, “Yes, Lord.”

Psalm 104:27-30

August 02, 2014

These all look to you, to give them their food in due season. When you give it to them, they gather it up; when you open your hand, they are filled with good things. When you hide your face, they are dismayed; when you take away their breath, they die and return to their dust. When you send forth your Spirit, they are created, and you renew the face of the ground.

I cannot live, nothing can live without Your favor. Whether I live to see the sun rise tomorrow is completely dependent upon Your will for me. I must recognize that I am completely subservient to Your holy, just and perfect will. I am not the master of my fate, but am a redeemed child of God. Hallelujah.

Psalm 104:24-26

August 01, 2014

O LORD, how manifold are your works! In wisdom have you made them all; the earth is full of your creatures. Here is the sea, great and wide, which teems with creatures innumerable, living things both small and great. There go the ships, and Leviathan, which you formed to play in it.

All creation displays Your wisdom. I find it mind boggling that we continue to discover new species, especially in the oceans. Man thinks he knows it all and then—here comes another surprise. And it all meshes together, a beautifully and completely designed creation, only marred by the sin of man.

Psalm 104:19-23

July 31, 2014

He made the moon to mark the seasons; the sun knows its time for setting. You make darkness, and it is night, when all the beasts of the forest creep about. The young lions roar for their prey, seeking their food from God. When the sun rises, they steal away and lie down in their dens. (23) Man goes out to his work and to his labor until the evening.

Time. Time set in place by You who are infinite and outside of time, as a gift to Your creations. The gift that enables man and beast to live within their finitude. We who can only live in a space defined by an x,y,z axis and linear time, are the product of a Mind for whom everywhen is now and everywhere is here.

Psalm 104:14-18

July 30, 2014

You cause the grass to grow for the livestock and plants for man to cultivate, that he may bring forth food from the earth and wine to gladden the heart of man, oil to make his face shine and bread to strengthen man's heart. The trees of the LORD are watered abundantly, the cedars of Lebanon that he planted. In them the birds build their nests; the stork has her home in the fir trees. The high mountains are for the wild goats; the rocks are a refuge for the rock badgers.

Next step for the provision of man and beast with grass, food, wine, oil and bread; complete in all respects for the proper consumption. Nor did You omit the trees necessary to provide homes for man and birds. The cedars of Lebanon and the maples and spruce of Vermont. How I soaked in their greenness as I drove through Proctersville Gulf this morning.

Psalm 104:10-13

July 29, 2014

You make springs gush forth in the valleys; they flow between the hills; they give drink to every beast of the field; the wild donkeys quench their thirst. Beside them the birds of the heavens dwell; they sing among the branches. From your lofty abode you water the mountains; the earth is satisfied with the fruit of your work.

Having set the physical topology in place, You provide for the sustenance of Your creatures with amble provision of water. This emphasizes to me that it is water, living water that is necessary for life to exist. And then you fill the air with songbirds to sing Your praises. What a revelation, for I have never realized that the beautiful songs filling the air as I arise in the morning are a call to the beginning of a day to be spent praising You
