Psalm 103:6-8

July 16, 2014

The LORD works righteousness and justice for all who are oppressed. He made known his ways to Moses, his acts to the people of Israel. The LORD is merciful and gracious, slow to anger and abounding in steadfast love.

I am amazed at the patience of the Almighty. His toleration of my petulant behavior is hardly described by “slow to anger.” truly “abounding in steadfast love.

Psalm 103:1-5

July 15, 2014

Of David. Bless the LORD, O my soul, and all that is within me, bless his holy name! Bless the LORD, O my soul, and forget not all his benefits, who forgives all your iniquity, who heals all your diseases, who redeems your life from the pit, who crowns you with steadfast love and mercy, who satisfies you with good so that your youth is renewed like the Psalm 103:1-5.

The LORD’s mercy to me began before the very beginning of time as He laid out the great plan of grace and mercy that would redeem me and restore me to His presence. Just the beginning of His infinitely detailed plan to draw me into His Kingdom and assign me to the task of vine dresser in His vineyard. Hallelujah

Romans 11:33-36

July 14, 2014

O the depth of the riches both of the wisdom and knowledge of God! how unsearchable arehis judgments, and his ways past finding out! For who hath known the mind of the Lord? or who hath been his counsellor .Or who hath first given to him, and it shall be recompensed unto him again? For of him, and through him, and to him, areall things: to whom beglory for ever. Amen.

The joy of resting in the Father’s love, the peace that comes from knowing that ALL things work for my good, the comfort that is mine for I do not, yes—must not live consumed by fear and worry. Praise to the Father, Son and Holy Spirit.

Psalm 119:66

July 13, 2014
Teach me good judgment and knowledge, for I believe in your commandments.

Where else can I learn?  The wisdom of man has proves false and misleading, other philosophies have proven to not reflect reality, only the wisdom that comes from You and is a gift of Your Holy Spirit is true, consistent and coherent.  Praise You, Lord, the Truth Bearer.

Psalm 102:23-28

July 12, 2014
He has broken my strength in midcourse; he has shortened my days. "O my God," I say, "take me not away in the midst of my days-- you whose years endure throughout all generations!" Of old you laid the foundation of the earth, and the heavens are the work of your hands. They will perish, but you will remain; they will all wear out like a garment. You will change them like a robe, and they will pass away, but you are the same, and your years have no end. The children of your servants shall dwell secure; their offspring shall be established before you.

The eruption of vitriol and vituperation that has exploded in the last 24 hours since the Hobby Lobby decision by the Supreme Court is but a foretaste of what may be coming. My prayer for Your Church is that we not respond in kind, but quietly, presenting the hope that lies within us with gentleness and respect. May we be able to present our attackers with arguments based upon proven observation of the evil and destructiveness of Choice. Guide Your people, Lord.

Psalm 102:18-22

July 11, 2014
Let this be recorded for a generation to come, so that a people yet to be created may praise the LORD: that he looked down from his holy height; from heaven the LORD looked at the earth, to hear the groans of the prisoners, to set free those who were doomed to die, that they may declare in Zion the name of the LORD, and in Jerusalem his praise, when peoples gather together, and kingdoms, to worship the LORD.

Lord, should You tarry, continue to build Your Church. I especially pray for the Church in these United States, that we will declare Your Name boldly, that we will stand against the continuing slaughter of millions of innocent infants in the name of the god of Choice, that we will minister to the homeless, the hungry, those in prisons and hospitals; that in all things we will be the messengers of Agape to a broken and hurting world.

Psalm 102:12-17

July 10, 2014
But you, O LORD, are enthroned forever; you are remembered throughout all generations. You will arise and have pity on Zion; it is the time to favor her; the appointed time has come. For your servants hold her stones dear and have pity on her dust. Nations will fear the name of the LORD, and all the kings of the earth will fear your glory. For the LORD builds up Zion; he appears in his glory; he regards the prayer of the destitute and does not despise their prayer.

Lord, build Your Church for we are those messengers called to minister to the destitute family in NY, to the couple battling cancer together, and called to speak truth with love into injustice. Lord, imbue Your Church with boldness to speak of the great need for Your salvation, for the hope and joy that is Your Gift to all who receive.

Psalm 102:8-11

July 09, 2014
All the day my enemies taunt me; those who deride me use my name for a curse. For I eat ashes like bread and mingle tears with my drink, because of your indignation and anger; for you have taken me up and thrown me down.  My days are like an evening shadow; I wither away like grass.

A prayer request came in a few minutes ago for a family in NY who lost two sons and their home in a fire with an infant daughter in an ICU in Boston. It is unimaginable to me that there could be any comfort in this situation but the parents are in Your Hands. Sit beside them, Lord, send Your messengers to console them in their grief

Psalm 102:3-7

July 08, 2014
For my days pass away like smoke, and my bones burn like a furnace. My heart is struck down like grass and has withered; I forget to eat my bread. Because of my loud groaning my bones cling to my flesh. I am like a desert owl of the wilderness, like an owl of the waste places; I lie awake; I am like a lonely sparrow on the housetop.

For two friends who don't know You, he is suffering from a cancer of as yet undetermined origin, she as principal caregiver. My prayer is that You will use this very difficult time to bring them to know You as Lord and Savior, as Master and Brother. That You will bring both spiritual and physical healing.

Psalm 102:1-2

July 07, 2014
A Prayer of one afflicted, when he is faint and pours out his complaint before the LORD. Hear my prayer, O LORD; let my cry come to you! Do not hide your face from me in the day of my distress! Incline your ear to me; answer me speedily in the day when I call!

Lord, do You not answer or do I not hear? I am afraid it is the latter. I'm either not listening or I don't like the answer I'm hearing. O stubborn me, heal my self-will that I would be perfectly submitted to Your will.

We give thanks to God always for all of you, constantly mentioning you in our prayers, remembering before our God and Father your work of faith and labor of love and steadfastness of hope in our Lord Jesus Christ. For we know, brothers loved by God, that he has chosen you, because our gospel came to you not only in word, but also in power and in the Holy Spirit and with full conviction. You know what kind of men we proved to be among you for your sake. And you became imitators of us and of the Lord, for you received the word in much affliction, with the joy of the Holy Spirit, so that you became an example to all the believers in Macedonia and in Achaia.

Paul states that the gospel comes to us in power and in the Holy Spirit and with full conviction and that this fills us with the joy of the Holy Spirit so that we can serve as an example to others of the transforming power of the mercy and grace of our Lord. Let me live that out each day where ever You place me.

Psalm 101:8

July 04, 2014

Morning by morning I will destroy all the wicked in the land, cutting off all the evildoers from the city of the LORD.

I am a temple of the Lord God Almighty! Therefore it is my responsibility to provide a holy place for His residence. However, that can only be accomplished by the transforming power of the Spirit. Strip me, Lord, of all unrighteousness.
