Ephesians 6:13-17

May 16, 2014

Therefore take up the whole armor of God, that you may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand firm. Stand therefore, having fastened on the belt of truth, and having put on the breastplate of righteousness, and, as shoes for your feet, having put on the readiness given by the gospel of peace. In all circumstances take up the shield of faith, with which you can extinguish all the flaming darts of the evil one; and take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God,

Weapons of protection, weapons of defense and weapons of offense. When I take up the whole armor of God, I am an invincible force in the advancing army of the Kingdom of Heaven.

Ephesians 6:10-12

May 15, 2014

Finally, be strong in the Lord and in the strength of his might. Put on the whole armor of God, that you may be able to stand against the schemes of the devil. For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the cosmic powers over this present darkness, against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly places.

2 Corinthians 10:4 For the weapons of our warfare are not of the flesh but have divine power to destroy strongholds.

Why do I turn to the weapons of man when I know that the attacks are supernatural in nature and power? Why is it that the residual man in me wants to fight against these cosmic powers with weak and ineffectual weapons when I have the whole armor of the LORD, God Almighty at my command? Is it because I am not yet completely regenerated? That my sanctification is not yet complete? Come, Lord Jesus, come.

Psalm 93:3-5

May 14, 2014

The floods have lifted up, O LORD, the floods have lifted up their voice; the floods lift up their roaring. Mightier than the thunders of many waters, mightier than the waves of the sea, the LORD on high is mighty! Your decrees are very trustworthy; holiness befits your house, O LORD, forevermore.

Knowing that the LORD reigns brings great peace to my day. I know that He is with me, every step of the way, there is will be no trial, no temptation, no challenge, no problem, no disappointment, no loss that I cannot face in complete confidence that my LORD is with me, guiding me and with my good as an outcome.

May 13, 2014

The LORD reigns; he is robed in majesty; the LORD is robed; he has put on strength as his belt. Yes, the world is established; it shall never be moved. Your throne is established from of old; you are from everlasting.

The LORD reigns, He, the LORD God Almighty, Adoni, reigns now, He is all that ever was, all that is and all that ever will be.

Therefore God has highly exalted him and bestowed on him the name that is above every name, so that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, in heaven and on earth and under the earth, and every tongue confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.

Every knee will bow, every tongue confess. JESUS CHRIST IS LORD. Now or then, that choice is yours but will or won't is not. Now and be welcomed into the life of righteousness, peace and joy that is life in the Kingdom, or at the Judgment Seat of Christ and be banished into everlasting punishment.

Psalm 119:173

May 11, 2014

Let your hand be ready to help me, for I have chosen your precepts.

I have chosen Your precepts as my Rule for Life; as my guide to life in the Kingdom. Give me understanding according to Your word; fill my mouth with Your praises as effective as a two-edged sword in my hand.

Psalm 92:12-15

May 10, 2014

The righteous flourish like the palm tree and grow like a cedar in Lebanon. They are planted in the house of the LORD; they flourish in the courts of our God. They still bear fruit in old age; they are ever full of sap and green, to declare that the LORD is upright; he is my rock, and there is no unrighteousness in him.

Continue to use us, Lord, as vine dressers in Your vineyards. Let every moment of our lives be spent in glorifying You. May our labors continue to advance Your Kingdom. Direct our every footstep

May 09, 2014

But you have exalted my horn like that of the wild ox; you have poured over me fresh oil. My eyes have seen the downfall of my enemies; my ears have heard the doom of my evil assailants.

It is amazing how problems and challenges melt before our eyes when the power of prayer is brought to bear.

Psalm 92:8-9

May 08, 2014

but you, O LORD, are on high forever. For behold, your enemies, O LORD, for behold, your enemies shall perish; all evildoers shall be scattered.

“Is the arm of the Lord too short?” The world labels certain crimes as both unforgivable and unredeemable, but all are open to the transforming power of Your sacrifice. While all have sinned and fallen short of Your glory, no one, none, all will be forgiven if they accept Your gift of grace and mercy.

Psalm 92:5-7

May 07, 2014

How great are your works, O LORD! Your thoughts are very deep! The stupid man cannot know; the fool cannot understand this: that though the wicked sprout like grass and all evildoers flourish, they are doomed to destruction forever;

Night after night we watch Your handiwork in transformed lives. Men released from addictions, from anger, from guilt, from rejection and abuse. Lives transformed from the stench of sin to the aroma of glory. Marvelous! Beyond comprehension by the world!

Psalm 92:1-4

May 06, 2014

A Psalm. A Song for the Sabbath. It is good to give thanks to the LORD, to sing praises to your name, O Most High; to declare your steadfast love in the morning, and your faithfulness by night, to the music of the lute and the harp, to the melody of the lyre. For you, O LORD, have made me glad by your work; at the works of your hands I sing for joy.

We give You thanks for the many blessings, not least of all is the strength and wherewithal to pursue the prison ministry. We thank You for Scott and Mona, their music ministry and their love for us; we thank you for the men who have opened their hearts to us and encouraged us with their testimonies; we thank You for opening the gates of the Springfield and Windsor prisons.

2 Timothy 1:8-12

May 05, 2014

Therefore do not be ashamed of the testimony about our Lord, nor of me his prisoner, but share in suffering for the gospel by the power of God, who saved us and called us to a holy calling, not because of our works but because of his own purpose and grace, which he gave us in Christ Jesus before the ages began, and which now has been manifested through the appearing of our Savior Christ Jesus, who abolished death and brought life and immortality to light through the gospel, for which I was appointed a preacher and apostle and teacher, which is why I suffer as I do. But I am not ashamed, for I know whom I have believed, and I am convinced that he is able to guard until that Day what has been entrusted to me.

It is a great blessing, Lord, that Betty and I allowed to spend these latter years of our lives ministering in the prisons of Vermont. Looking back, we see how You have trained and equipped us for this ministry; all the while that we thought we were leading our lives as we chose, You had a plan for us, moving us towards this work. Praise You, our Lord Jesus, for Your mercy to us.
