Psalm 105:12-25

November 12, 2011

Psalm 105:12-25

When they were few in number, of little account, and sojourners in it, wandering from nation to nation, from one kingdom to another people, he allowed no one to oppress them; he rebuked kings on their account, saying, "Touch not my anointed ones, do my prophets no harm!" When he summoned a famine on the land and broke all supply of bread, he had sent a man ahead of them, Joseph, who was sold as a slave. His feet were hurt with fetters; his neck was put in a collar of iron; until what he had said came to pass, the word of the LORD tested him. The king sent and released him; the ruler of the peoples set him free; he made him lord of his house and ruler of all his possessions, to bind his princes at his pleasure and to teach his elders wisdom. Then Israel came to Egypt; Jacob sojourned in the land of Ham. And the LORD made his people very fruitful and made them stronger than their foes. He turned their hearts to hate his people, to deal craftily with his servants.

As You cared for and watched over Your people of old, caused them to grow and multiply in a foreign land, nurtured them in the midst of hostility, so You watch and care for Your church today. This country, founded upon benevolence towards You and Your people, is growing in hostility. Give us the willingness to stand and be counted, to declare that we are Your people and obedient to Your name. Praise You, Lord and Master.

November 11, 2011

Psalm 105:7-11

He is the LORD our God; his judgments are in all the earth. He remembers his covenant forever, the word that he commanded, for a thousand generations, the covenant that he made with Abraham, his sworn promise to Isaac, which he confirmed to Jacob as a statute, to Israel as an everlasting covenant, saying, "To you I will give the land of Canaan as your portion for an inheritance."

And the covenant You have made with me, that my sins are forgiven and that I am now a child of the Father, God Almighty. Lead me along the Kingdom path that I may be a witness to Your goodness and mercy. Teach me to walk in the way of obedience.

2 Corinthians 1:19-21

For the Son of God, Jesus Christ, whom we proclaimed among you, Silvanus and Timothy and I, was not Yes and No, but in him it is always Yes. (20) For all the promises of God find their Yes in him. That is why it is through him that we utter our Amen to God for his glory. (21) And it is God who establishes us with you in Christ, and has anointed us,

You, the Father; You, the Lord , God Almighty; You are the One who brings me into Your Presence; You are the One who loves me to from the beginning to the end; You are before and behind; You are above and below; You are at my right hand and at my left; give me the Grace to always acknowledge Your Presence.

Psalm 104:31-35

November 08, 2011

Psalm 104:31-35

May the glory of the LORD endure forever; may the LORD rejoice in his works, who looks on the earth and it trembles, who touches the mountains and they smoke! I will sing to the LORD as long as I live; I will sing praise to my God while I have being. May my meditation be pleasing to him, for I rejoice in the LORD. Let sinners be consumed from the earth, and let the wicked be no more! Bless the LORD, O my soul! Praise the LORD!

A hymn of praise to be sung on the Lord's Day. A special recognition of the magnificence and the munificence of the Lord. Lord, let Your glory reign supreme over and through all creation. Soon all will bow before You and call You Lord, the Day is coming and is near at hand.

Psalm 104:24-30

November 07, 2011

Psalm 104:24-30

O LORD, how manifold are your works! In wisdom have you made them all; the earth is full of your creatures. Here is the sea, great and wide, which teems with creatures innumerable, living things both small and great.  There go the ships, and Leviathan, which you formed to play in it. These all look to you, to give them their food in due season. When you give it to them, they gather it up; when you open your hand, they are filled with good things. When you hide your face, they are dismayed; when you take away their breath, they die and return to their dust. When you send forth your Spirit, they are created, and you renew the face of the ground.

You are the Source of all life, the Supply of all necessities, the Provider of all sustenance, the Director of all activities, The Scheduler of all events, the Satisfier of all desires, You are the All in All.

Psalm 119:36

November 06, 2011

Psalm 119:36

Incline my heart to your testimonies, and not to selfish gain!

Turn my eyes to You, to Your glory, to Your munificence, to that pure brilliant radiance that is You. Keep me from that self-centered ego-stroking attitude that wants to know what others think about me and my walk before You. O Lord, why do I keep focusing on my tattered and filthy rags when You have given me a glimpse of the Glory?

Psalm 104:10-23

November 05, 2011

Psalm 104:10-23

You make springs gush forth in the valleys; they flow between the hills; they give drink to every beast of the field; the wild donkeys quench their thirst. Beside them the birds of the heavens dwell; they sing among the branches. From your lofty abode you water the mountains; the earth is satisfied with the fruit of your work. You cause the grass to grow for the livestock and plants for man to cultivate, that he may bring forth food from the earth and wine to gladden the heart of man, oil to make his face shine and bread to strengthen man's heart. The trees of the LORD are watered abundantly, the cedars of Lebanon that he planted. In them the birds build their nests; the stork has her home in the fir trees. The high mountains are for the wild goats; the rocks are a refuge for the rock badgers. He made the moon to mark the seasons; the sun knows its time for setting. You make darkness, and it is night, when all the beasts of the forest creep about. The young lions roar for their prey, seeking their food from God. When the sun rises, they steal away and lie down in their dens. (23) Man goes out to his work and to his labor until the evening.

Lord, You provide. Provision for the beast of the field, food and shelter for man; You order the seasons and the rhythms of the day and night. You provide the gift of labor and the blessing of rest; all is from your hand.

Help me Lord, to see Your hand in all things and in all circumstances; help me to acknowledge Your presence.

Psalm 104:5-9

November 04, 2011

Psalm 104:5-9

He set the earth on its foundations, so that it should never be moved. You covered it with the deep as with a garment; the waters stood above the mountains. At your rebuke they fled; at the sound of your thunder they took to flight. The mountains rose, the valleys sank down to the place that you appointed for them. You set a boundary that they may not pass, so that they might not again cover the earth.

As I look out of my window this morning, the evidences of Your creative hand are spread before my eyes. Look at the flowers cascading out of the stump planter, a river of color and form. The whites blending into the yellows, all accented by the pinks and reads. Now being revived by the gentle rain that You have given to bless Your earth. The sheer beauty of it all speaks to me of Your creative spirit that creates for the enjoyment of both the act and the results. Praise You, my LORD.

Psalm 104:1-4

November 03, 2011

Psalm 104:1-4

Bless the LORD, O my soul! O LORD my God, you are very great! You are clothed with splendor and majesty, covering yourself with light as with a garment, stretching out the heavens like a tent. He lays the beams of his chambers on the waters; he makes the clouds his chariot; he rides on the wings of the wind; he makes his messengers winds, his ministers a flaming fire.

Fire, blinding fire, light, totally coherent light, splendor and majesty, mind shattering brilliance. Lord, keep this picture in my mind throughout the day.

Ephesians 3:14-21

November 02, 2011

Ephesians 3:14-21

For this reason I bow my knees before the Father, (15) from whom every family in heaven and on earth is named, (16) that according to the riches of his glory he may grant you to be strengthened with power through his Spirit in your inner being, (17) so that Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith--that you, being rooted and grounded in love, (18) may have strength to comprehend with all the saints what is the breadth and length and height and depth, (19) and to know the love of Christ that surpasses knowledge, that you may be filled with all the fullness of God. (20) Now to him who is able to do far more abundantly than all that we ask or think, according to the power at work within us, (21) to him be glory in the church and in Christ Jesus throughout all generations, forever and ever. Amen.

This is incredibly amazing that You should fill me with the power of the Holy Spirit so that You can enter into residence in my heart, and this gift is so that I can recognize the full extent of Your love for me. A love that exceeds all knowledge and has the result of filling me with You, the LORD God Almighty. Praise You, LORD

Psalm 103:19-22

November 01, 2011

Psalm 103:19-22

The LORD has established his throne in the heavens, and his kingdom rules over all. Bless the LORD, O you his angels, you mighty ones who do his word, obeying the voice of his word! Bless the LORD, all his hosts, his ministers, who do his will! Bless the LORD, all his works, in all places of his dominion. Bless the LORD, O my soul!

Lord, that all creation would praise Your righteous rule; all angels, all the elements of the physical universe, all living things, and most of all, those, Your people, cry out in continuous praise and worship. Let not a single portion of Your Creation withhold its tongue; let all shout together—Praise the Lord for His Goodness, Praise the Lord!
