Psalm 119:66

February 09, 2014
Teach me good judgment and knowledge, for I believe in your commandments.

Let that good judgment and knowledge be a hallmark of the working of Your commandments in me. As Your Word enters into my life, let it flow out as a river of life, a river that cleanses and restores Your Shalom.

Psalm 79:8-10

February 08, 2014

Do not remember against us our former iniquities; let your compassion come speedily to meet us, for we are brought very low. Help us, O God of our salvation, for the glory of your name; deliver us, and atone for our sins, for your name's sake! Why should the nations say, "Where is their God?" Let the avenging of the outpoured blood of your servants be known among the nations before our eyes!

How long, O Lord, will You continue to withhold Your hand from chastising those who condone the Sin of Moloch? How long until You send Your fierce wrath against those chase after other gods; the gods of the materialistic culture around us?

Psalm 79:5-7

February 07, 2014

How long, O LORD? Will you be angry forever? Will your jealousy burn like fire? Pour out your anger on the nations that do not know you, and on the kingdoms that do not call upon your name! For they have devoured Jacob and laid waste his habitation.

Lord, You know Your Church is weak and easily dissuaded from the Path of Righteousness. You know that the fool's gold of the world is far more accessible and desirable in our eyes than the pure Gold refined in the fire. Direct our anger towards those who would call us away from You; lead us in the way we should go.

Psalm 79:1-4

February 06, 2014

A Psalm of Asaph. O God, the nations have come into your inheritance; they have defiled your holy temple; they have laid Jerusalem in ruins. They have given the bodies of your servants to the birds of the heavens for food, the flesh of your faithful to the beasts of the earth. They have poured out their blood like water all around Jerusalem, and there was no one to bury them. We have become a taunt to our neighbors, mocked and derided by those around us.

Lord, open my eyes to the insidious ways in which the Kingdom of Man has invaded and perverted the Church. How has the world around us seeped in to dilute our worship? How has it destroyed our communion with You? How have we become convinced that we can pick and chose those portions of Your Word to obey and to ignore? Our protestations of faith have become hollow and a joke in the eyes of the world.

Revelation 3:18-19

February 05, 2014

I counsel you to buy from me gold refined by fire, so that you may be rich, and white garments so that you may clothe yourself and the shame of your nakedness may not be seen, and salve to anoint your eyes, so that you may see. Those whom I love, I reprove and discipline, so be zealous and repent.

The Lord's gold brings to mind the purity and incorruptibility of His Word, the white garments remind me of the transformation and restoration that is being worked in me and the salve is the Holy Spirit anointing the eyes of my heart (Eph. 1:18) so that I may see the glories of the transcendent.

Psalm 78:65-72

February 04, 2014

Then the Lord awoke as from sleep, like a strong man shouting because of wine. And he put his adversaries to rout; he put them to everlasting shame. He rejected the tent of Joseph; he did not choose the tribe of Ephraim, but he chose the tribe of Judah, Mount Zion, which he loves. He built his sanctuary like the high heavens, like the earth, which he has founded forever. He chose David his servant and took him from the sheepfolds; from following the nursing ewes he brought him to shepherd Jacob his people, Israel his inheritance. With upright heart he shepherded them and guided them with his skillful hand.

The Lord Jesus Christ returns in triumph to assume His rightful place as the King to whom all will bow, every knee will bend and every tongue confess that he is Lord. Halleluiah, come, Lord Jesus, come

Psalm 78:56-64

February 03, 2014

Yet they tested and rebelled against the Most High God and did not keep his testimonies, but turned away and acted treacherously like their fathers; they twisted like a deceitful bow. For they provoked him to anger with their high places; they moved him to jealousy with their idols. When God heard, he was full of wrath, and he utterly rejected Israel. He forsook his dwelling at Shiloh, the tent where he dwelt among mankind, and delivered his power to captivity, his glory to the hand of the foe. He gave his people over to the sword and vented his wrath on his heritage. Fire devoured their young men, and their young women had no marriage song. Their priests fell by the sword, and their widows made no lamentation.

The Day of the Wrath of the Almighty is coming when He will consign the Western Church to persecution the likes of which has never been known in this country. There will be a remnant, a small band who have not bowed the knee to Baal.

Psalm 119:60

February 02, 2014

I hasten and do not delay to keep your commandments.

I am seeking to hasten and not delay, I have much to learn; it is part of the recognition that You are ever present to me and that I cannot sense the Presence when I am in a state of disobedience.

Psalm 78:40-55

February 01, 2014

How often they rebelled against him in the wilderness and grieved him in the desert! They tested God again and again and provoked the Holy One of Israel. They did not remember his power or the day when he redeemed them from the foe, when he performed his signs in Egypt and his marvels in the fields of Zoan. He turned their rivers to blood, so that they could not drink of their streams. He sent among them swarms of flies, which devoured them, and frogs, which destroyed them. He gave their crops to the destroying locust and the fruit of their labor to the locust. He destroyed their vines with hail and their sycamores with frost. He gave over their cattle to the hail and their flocks to thunderbolts. He let loose on them his burning anger, wrath, indignation, and distress, a company of destroying angels. He made a path for his anger; he did not spare them from death, but gave their lives over to the plague. He struck down every firstborn in Egypt, the firstfruits of their strength in the tents of Ham. Then he led out his people like sheep and guided them in the wilderness like a flock. He led them in safety, so that they were not afraid, but the sea overwhelmed their enemies. And he brought them to his holy land, to the mountain which his right hand had won. He drove out nations before them; he apportioned them for a possession and settled the tribes of Israel in their tents.

We see the power of Your wrath; we see richness of Your fulfilled promises; what more do we need to bring us into total obedience to the Holy One of Israel?

Psalm 78:34-39

January 31, 2014

When he killed them, they sought him; they repented and sought God earnestly. They remembered that God was their rock, the Most High God their redeemer. But they flattered him with their mouths; they lied to him with their tongues. Their heart was not steadfast toward him; they were not faithful to his covenant. Yet he, being compassionate, atoned for their iniquity and did not destroy them; he restrained his anger often and did not stir up all his wrath. He remembered that they were but flesh, a wind that passes and comes not again.

Yes revival sweeps through the Church, men and women brought to their knees in repentance. Some have wrecked significant change in the surrounding society but rebellion soon sets in. Why are we not terrified that You will finally exercise tough love.

Psalm 78:32-33

January 30, 2014

In spite of all this, they still sinned; despite his wonders, they did not believe. So he made their days vanish like a breath, and their years in terror.

But how long will you withhold Your hand? Will you rain judgment on the Western Church? Will You bring the cleansing fires of persecution and martyrdom to restore this portion of Your Body or will You send Gabriel to announce Your return?

Morning: Psalm 23

Mid-day: 119:73-80

Evening: Psalm 98

Psalm 78:26-31

January 29, 2014

He caused the east wind to blow in the heavens, and by his power he led out the south wind; he rained meat on them like dust, winged birds like the sand of the seas; he let them fall in the midst of their camp, all around their dwellings. And they ate and were well filled, for he gave them what they craved. But before they had satisfied their craving, while the food was still in their mouths, the anger of God rose against them, and he killed the strongest of them and laid low the young men of Israel.

Sometimes Your blessings pour down like the quail on the Israelites but we take it as our due. But You through Your grace withhold Your hand, allowing additional opportunities to repent and turn to You seeking transformation.
