Psalm 59:11-13
Kill them not, lest my people forget; make them totter by your power and bring them down, O Lord, our shield! For the sin of their mouths, the words of their lips, let them be trapped in their pride. For the cursing and lies that they utter, (13) consume them in wrath; consume them till they are no more, that they may know that God rules over Jacob to the ends of the earth. Selah
Lord, use me to demonstrate the transforming power of Your love. Let all who knew me see that You have created a new man in You, that those areas of my life, formerly consumed by jealousy, lust, covetousness and greed have been changed into a passion for You and Your Kingdom.

Psalm 59:4b-10
Awake, come to meet me, and see! You, LORD God of hosts, are God of Israel. Rouse yourself to punish all the nations; spare none of those who treacherously plot evil. Selah Each evening they come back, howling like dogs and prowling about the city. There they are, bellowing with their mouths with swords in their lips-- for "Who," they think, "will hear us?" But you, O LORD, laugh at them; you hold all the nations in derision. O my Strength, I will watch for you, for you, O God, are my fortress. My God in his steadfast love will meet me; God will let me look in triumph on my enemies.
We stand together in our hatred of these false affections. These sins of the heart befoul my relationship with You and cause me to stumble and to stumble others. Smite them Lord, remove them from me purify my heart and lead me in the Way Everlasting.

Psalm 59:3-4a
For behold, they lie in wait for my life; fierce men stir up strife against me. For no transgression or sin of mine, O LORD, (4) for no fault of mine, they run and make ready.
Those enemies that I struggle with, the false affections, are through faults of mine; they are the result of my willingness to elevate myself to the place of my god. Forgive me, Lord, and transform me into Your likeness.

Psalm 59:1-2
To the choirmaster: according to Do Not Destroy. A Miktam of David, when Saul sent men to watch his house in order to kill him. Deliver me from my enemies, O my God; protect me from those who rise up against me; deliver me from those who work evil, and save me from bloodthirsty men.
Lord, my enemies are not men sent to kill or even harass me, but those sly minions of the Evil One: doubt, lust, greed, covetousness, jealousness, the list goes on and their names are Legion. Yet the answers are plain in Your Word: “Let the praise of God be ever in my mouth and a two-edged sword in my hands” (Psalm 149:6-paraphrased) and “I have stored Your Word in my heart that I might not sin against thee.” (Psalm 119:11). Through the power of the Holy Spirit, these statements are true and active.

2 Timothy 3:16-17
All Scripture is breathed out by God and profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, and for training in righteousness, that the man of God may be competent, equipped for every good work.
All Scripture is a precious gift to me, furnished by God to be my shield and my weapon, my guide and my light, my comfort and my encourager. Praise You, LORD, God Almighty, for Your goodness to the children of man.

Psalm 119:57
The LORD is my portion; I promise to keep your words.
I don't do a very good job! I watch Tony draw away from You, I don't open my mouth with David or Kim. I am a disgrace to Your Name. Forgive me and transform me, Lord.

Psalm 58:9-11
Sooner than your pots can feel the heat of thorns, whether green or ablaze, may he sweep them away! The righteous will rejoice when he sees the vengeance; he will bathe his feet in the blood of the wicked. Mankind will say, "Surely there is a reward for the righteous; surely there is a God who judges on earth."
The time is coming and coming soon where Your Glory will overshadow all the wickedness of man and Your Kingdom will be restored in its full beauty and perfection. That glorious Day when all will acknowledge that You are LORD.

Psalm 58:6-8
O God, break the teeth in their mouths; tear out the fangs of the young lions, O LORD! Let them vanish like water that runs away; when he aims his arrows, let them be blunted. Let them be like the snail that dissolves into slime, like the stillborn child who never sees the sun.
Whatever it takes, Lord, to bring those who refuse to acknowledge You now, to their knees in adoration and acceptance of Your great sacrifice for the children of man.

Psalm 58:3-5
The wicked are estranged from the womb; they go astray from birth, speaking lies. They have venom like the venom of a serpent, like the deaf adder that stops its ear, so that it does not hear the voice of charmers or of the cunning enchanter.
Lord, those who reject Your offer of redemption, who are determined to follow their own paths and trust in their own strength must be brought to their knees. It will happen, either now or before Your Judgment Seat when every knee shall bow, every tongue confess that You are the Christ, the Son of the Living God and Lord of the Universe.

Psalm 58:1-2
To the choirmaster: according to Do Not Destroy. A Miktam of David. Do you indeed decree what is right, you gods? Do you judge the children of man uprightly? No, in your hearts you devise wrongs; your hands deal out violence on earth.
This world is in a death spiral. Man's determination to serve as his own god and to worship his own evil lusts is wreaking havoc. Those who have been given the eyes to see the unseen, see the impacts of man's refusal to live according to Your Word and are paying the consequences but the response is simply to attempt to regulate more intensely. Heartbreaking.

Romans 1:18-22
For the wrath of God is revealed from heaven against all ungodliness and unrighteousness of men, who by their unrighteousness suppress the truth. For what can be known about God is plain to them, because God has shown it to them. For his invisible attributes, namely, his eternal power and divine nature, have been clearly perceived, ever since the creation of the world, in the things that have been made. So they are without excuse. For although they knew God, they did not honor him as God or give thanks to him, but they became futile in their thinking, and their foolish hearts were darkened. Claiming to be wise, they became fools,
No one, at the awful Day will be able to cry, “You didn't tell me, Lord” for what can be known is plain and has been shown to each man. The Plan of Salvation may not have been revealed to them, but that has prevented no one from honoring You or giving thanks to You as the source of eternal power and for Your divine nature. There is no defense.

Acts 17:30-31
The times of ignorance God overlooked, but now he commands all people everywhere to repent, because he has fixed a day on which he will judge the world in righteousness by a man whom he has appointed; and of this he has given assurance to all by raising him from the dead."
That Day is approaching as we watch the world around us spinning and spiraling into the abyss; the Day of Judgment when we will all stand before the One whom the LORD, God Almighty, has appointed to judge in righteousness. Praise the Lord, through His resurrection, I am prepared to face Him, sins forgiven, washed in the Blood of the Lamb.
